It's obvious Squadron isn't going to bother contacting me over this.

I've now contacted eModels in UK whom I bought it from to let them know what happened, and if they have any channels to Squadron?
I didn't want to have to involve eModels since they were so super nice and helpful to me when ordering the kit, but they're my only solution right now and they need to know anyway that Squadron isn't bothered about their customers.

I really hate doing this and I don't want to sound "bitchy", but right is right and a dodgy kit it was.

If it wasn't so damn expensive I'd just cobble it together and put a healthy quantity of black powder inside it and give it a vikings funeral!

The UK store I bought the kit from has also contacted Squadron but guess what... nothing. No reply to me.
      I don't understand what's wrong here?
Was I too polite when I asked for help the first time or are they just a bunch of &%#%# ?

A lot of people on scalemates have contacted me to say that they will never buy from Squadron again after hearing this so it's going to be a bigger loss for Squadron than if they'd just sent me the parts - or even letting me buy the parts (which I initially offered to do).

I didn't complain for the money, I complained because the quality was way under par. Sadly they don't seem to care about their customers.

Unless something happens I won't post anything more in this thread either because nobody's reading it anyway. Perhaps most modellers don't care about quality?

They sound like a bunch of *******s to be honest mate. I've been following your thread mate don't worry I'm on your side I'd be fuming if I'd paid that much for a dodgy kit. Most companies know the consequences of a bad review so are quick to reply and try sort the problem so I don't know why it's different for. Squadron

          Cheers mate!
In this case they didn't seem to care at all. The people who are running their publishing side reacted very quickly though and talked to Squadron modelling side, but that led to absolutely nothing.
It's just like they couldn't be bothered. They quickly responded to my first email but after that nothing. Not even when they were reminded from at least two other sources.

I don't know if the store I bought the kit from is able to talk to them but it's not really their job to do that. Product failures are the responsibility of the manufacturer, not the 3:rd part that is selling it.
If the store offers to replace it I will be happy, but it wouldn't be right.

I've not done any modelling since this happened because it took all my inspiration and happiness for the hobby away. Not precisely great when you're doing this to battle severe depression...

I'll get over it, no worries, but it made me rather upset because I thought people who work with this hobby, albeit earning money on it too, were grown people trying to be nice to each other!? Sadly there are some cowboys too who're just in for the money... Bummer because what made me buy the kit in the end, even when I couldn't afford it, was to show my appreciation to Squadron for daring to make their own, a bit wacky, expensive kit. This I regret.

Luckily I've got Tamiya, Takom, Meng, Trumpeter, Dragon Hobbyboss, MasterBox etc etc to fall back on knowing that if I receive a dodgy kit they will help you to sort it out!

That's shit bud I'm currently signed off work with depression too due to my gambling so I know what your going through, I'm doing lots of figures at the moment to take mind off the depression and it's working. You got any other kits to crack on with while this try's to get resolved?

I've got another 10 started (most of them primed and ready for paint) and another 15-16 kits in the stash, and another 8 incoming so me not modelling is certainly not a lack of kits

Jens, I'm sure plenty are reading your thread, but there's not much we can say, and there's nothing to "like".

I guess we've all been waiting to see if you got anything back from Squadron. Until then, as Pete says, there's not much we can say.

Jens, in 11 days or so, your thread has over 300 views. I don't think it's fair to suggest no one is reading it. Much less that perhaps most modellers don't care about quality.....

As members have written - Perhaps they are waiting to see what happens.

....and as Peter points out there is nothing to 'Like' about the situation you find yourself in.

Good luck in your quest to resolve the kit issue.

                      Thanks guys for responding!
It's just been so frustrating trying to get Squadron to respond, without any luck whatsoever, and it has killed all the fun I had with the hobby...
It'll come back but it's still annoying.

Sorry for sounding so negative before.

                        Jens

It is really annoying when things like this happen. In the "old" days we all accepted the quality of kits with the limitations of manfacturing but as you say with modern techniques the quality of products we get now are incredible and we have come to expect that, especially were the kit carries a significant price tag.

It is disappointing that Squadron have not even bothered to offer a replacement part which would be the least one would expect these days.

I recently purchased a bust of a knight through historex agents here in the uk. All fully sealed but the figure i had was resin and a significant part of the crown was broken and missing. I contacted Andrea maybe not holding out too much hope of getting it sorted and apart from asking for a picture of the broken part plus a a copy of the quality control docket they put in the kit they replaced what is the main part of the kit and very quickly all the way from spain to england.

                        I was very impressed.

Its a pity Squadron cannot follow a similar line because at the end of the day you just want the parts to make your kit.

Bit difficult replying because as mentioned i think many of us have been waiting to see the outcome but rest assured many of us feel your pain with this one - just not in a position to do very much to help you resolve it.
