This may sound weird but do I have to be concerned about the temperature in my room because it's getting pretty hot and I have 2 big uss enterprise models from Star trek and the nacelles are pretty heavy for a model kit and I was wondering if they could go and hang down ( the nacelles of the original filming model had that problem before the restoration )

Hi Levi my model room has had full sun on the window during this crazy hot weather for a long time now, most of this time i have had the blind closed and curtains pulled half across also the loft hatch open so the heat can rise up and away, all of my models are on shelves in there and are fine.
I would'nt worry to much yours should be ok.

Polystyrene (the plastic most model kits are made from) begins to get soft at around 90 degrees, and has a glass transition temperature (thatโs the point at which it actually becomes rubbery) of 100 degrees. Unless the temperature in your display case gets up to thosenkinds of values, the models should be okay.Comment
