Here are some (typically badly photographed) examples from the distant past (over 20 years ago).
Posted for fun, although the recurrent issue of not over-exposing the photos continues to crop up.
The overhead pics are largely awful, but included here to show what was stowed inside the jeep & carrier.
I suspect the desert yellow is wrong for the Brits, and the insignia could've been better on the Puma (first try with stencils & water colour pencils). You live & learn.
The figures are interesting: slightly washed-out and in need of further shading. I suppose the 8th Army chap could be improved upon yet, but that's very unlikely.
I'm not big on reunions.

Is the Sd.Kfz. 234 the Italeri kit? With a Verlinden figure, if I’m not mistaken. The one by the Universal Carrier is clearly Hornet, but I’m not sure he needs more shading, he looks good to me. The guys in the SAS Jeep, on the other hand, look a bit toy-like, but then, that could just be because of the standard of Tamiya figures at the time

Raking through the memory vault, yes I think you're correct on all points.
The SAS kit was done while I was an impoverished student, so there were no additives to speak of (maybe a few accessories from the spares box).

Ha! I think certain kits were a kind of apprenticeship. Price determined this, in my youth at least.

There nowt wrong there lad, looks some fine painting, could have a bit more debris on those stone sets, but that's nothing.

Thanks. Yes the cobbled street is rather bare. A sign of the times, at the time.
That said, it's a blank canvas for another time. Maybe a field kitchen of Napoleon's army, with cuirassiers and Imperial Guard in attendance. Perhaps a voltigeur or two?

There is something to be said for not trying to develop your modelling skills: you’ll actually finish things within a reasonable time
