I’m so burned out again waiting on this paint to get here for my Millitary Models so instead of letting the Mojo die I’ve decided to keep my HO Layout and regroup on it. So these are on the bench being worked on at the moment. I’m almost done with the Scraper an the Six Truck Flatcar. The Boxcars will be getting new Trucks and new Couplers.

I like that scraper Lee. I started my working life as a plant mechanic and we had a towed scraper to go behind a Caterpillar. For some reason it was known as an 'onion box'.

Some good memories, but I soon realised I didn't want to do that as a long term career....

                    Nick.

Hi Lee.........love that scraper....if I had to guess I'd say it's a ROCO model. Now you are in a scale setting I can truly identify with. What kind of Motive Power are you using on the HO layout? Is it set in a particular period of time or adhoc?

That is absolutely incredible Lee! My neighbor back home in Salem Oregon, Railroaded for almost 50 years on the CGW.....He operated out of Des Moines, Iowa. He retired in 1950 and was in his 80's when I was a young man. He hated Diesel locomotives.....said they have no Soul. His name was Frank Anderson and his favorite locomotive was the old funnel stack #926 Here is a snap of him in his loft back when I knew him.Click image for larger version

Rick. That’s just too cool!! Love the pic also. The reason I’m thing of doing the CGW is because a long time friend from Iowa gave me some neat CGW power and rolling stock years ago when he down sized and moved to a more modern layout. The year I willl be doing will be around 1962 spring. I’ll keep you post

P.s you got to like the “ Lucky Strike” logo. I’m sure you have heard them old Railroaders call them that
