This morning I tried to resuscitate my '80s HiFi with debatable results: turntable with new head: good; amplifier: left channel only working and more investigation needed. Maybe it's just some old cable...:face-with-head-bandage:
In the meantime... some more glue, paint and primer (tested a new one, rattle can and yes...red!) Stinky  but smooth and easy to apply.
Hull and turret just dry fitted. The the commander's optic is already masked with masking fluid. All the turret will be green, tools and accessories included, but the intent is to try some light chipping on the metal parts.
Tracks are vinyl (with a working turntable, what else?! :smiling6They don't look too bad and after the mess I made with the BV 206 tracks, I'm going to refresh my skills on that material with this kit.

City boys….how dare you sir! I look out the back, I see fields….I look out the front….I see fields….I look out the left I see a farm, and if I look out the right I see a small row of cottages…..baint no townie me!
Trouble is Rick, in the U.K. we don’t get snow often enough for the average punter to get used to driving in it. No issues if your first out, driving on fresh snow is pretty simple. However, once the wheel spinners get on it you need to be able to drive on ice. We are also not allowed to use snow chains in most areas :worried:Comment

Hi there "City Slicker".......I can understand your situation now. I drive on the stuff from late November to sometimes mid April. Most of the time the highway is plowed but not always. I run steel studded snow tires on my Dodge 4X4 and most of the time I keep the trans locked up in 4 Hi. Helps a lot....especially if you happen to run into what we call "Black" Ice, nasty stuff. Not even sure we can buy snow tires in the UK…..we might get half a dozen days a year like that, sometimes none at all…..get a fair bit of black ice though, especially in the ungritted areas off the main routes….Comment

No, John, I'm still commuting but now I try to get a couple of hours at the bench at least 2 times per week...
We're still waiting for the electrician to complete the garage door motorization (I should have bought an old Tamiya garage door, instead... :tongue-out3: ) then it's time for a new heather (the old one is a clear and present danger to the climate :face-with-thermometer: and to our wallets :money-face. Our plan is to move there next spring.
In the meantime here are the (few) progresses: turret completed and primed.
Next is the upper hull, but I'm waiting for the CA glue to dry. I used it to fill in some small ejection marks in the rear-view mirrors (this too a first test: usually Tamiya putty is my choice, but those marks are so small that I thought to take a chance with CA).
Thank you for your interest.

I'm old & grew up in Buffalo NY so I remember the rumble of snow chains & the later rattle of studs. My dad didn't think they were worth the trouble, but kept a set of what he called mudhooks in his wagon and his trucks just in case. These were much easier to install, took about a minute a wheel & were very effective. Snow tires were a must.Comment
