I've stuck some of the rigging to the base before connecting them to the top. At present they are all over the place waiting for glue to cure...

Thank you for the comments on the last update...was already enjoying this but they really do spur the efforts on.

A few more details painted on, pin wash and rust effects added. C&C most welcome.

Doesn't matter Jack... still can be seen...the camouflaged tarpaulin is a nice feature that's been added. The zimmerit and camo are nice as well. I think the details will come out when the external tools and appendages are attached.

            Cheers,

That's the one John, the loft hatch and ladder blocked the door to their room. But they are gone now which is a relief. Won't go into details bit no one has ever caused me as much stress as she did!

Hi, although the rigging may look simple, it took me some time to attach them. I should have opened a new tube of CA to get it to work faster.

Well its done and while the rigging with paint cured I got the flags done and will attach them later.

I printed out a few sizes after scaling down from a 1/350th scale decal sheet.

Cut them out, folded, glued and teased them into wavy shapes with the tip of the back of a paint brush. I have a burnisher for that sort of thing but just grabbed what was on the table to work with.
The flags don't mean anything as Greg isn't too worried about it. He remembers his crew having fun with all kinds of jibberish being flagged up.

                  Cheers,
                  Richard

And now I have finally completed the two ships. Here are just two pictures...the rest I'll be putting them in the completed section and this is a rare feat.

Thanks Allan, anything I can finish at all is a treat for me...so many WIP's and so little time to work on them and ofcourse finding the mojo.

After the P70 I was planning to build some wheeled or tracked thing... and in fact... :rolling:

I gave in to the temptation of the fair amount of P.E. lurking from that box: Eduard 1:72 Spitfire Mk IX ProfiPack edition. The kit has amazing details both in plastic and in P.E. The fit is very good (the putty you see is mainly due to my mistakes) and the drops on the wings are the remains of a water washing after sanding. It's going to be the 601 Sqd. silvery UF-Q from Fano 1944.
I don't know if I'll repeat the experience of so many PE details at that scale; anyway, it's fun, up to now, and not too many bad words, at least less than the mistakes I made due to the huge quantity of details at such a small scale and poor skills with P.E.
If I had to buy another ProfiPack Editon, it will be a 1:48 kit to save my eyes health and alignment. :tongue-out2:
