    I'm glad you noticed Rick :smiling3: it was primarily to removed the mould seam that run around the middle of the tyre but does give a bit of a worn look, I just gave them a vigorous rub with an 80grit sanding stick until I could smell burning rubber lol.

        Cheers John, there was quite a few parts to the winch but really wasn't that bad to put together,a nice bit of design on tamiyas part.

                    That’s why I put a piece of plastic tube around the winch on my M32B1, so it doesn’t need a scale length of thread on it You can still do that with yours, if you cut a bit of tube lengthwise into two so you can glue the sections around the drum.

                      That's a good idea jacko, one layer of thread will sit flatter as well rather than looking a bit bunched up in places

                          On the other hand, these winches didn’t have a mechanism to wind the cable neatly, so it did bunch up in places on the real thing …
