    Which Finish?!

    Evenin` all.....
Just a quickie from me,and probably one which every man and his Dog knows the answer to,(Except me of course!:tears-of-joy......
... Which finish is most appropriate for my Spitfire.... Matt or Satin Varnish:thinking:
I`m guessing it should be Matt..... but my preferred choice would be Satin!:nerd:
    Thanks in advance:thumb2:,

Not sure which would be most accurate but I personally like satin for a model. I think it just looks nicer.

Surface of the Spitfire was a smooth satin finish for aerodynamics

Agreed ref satin. Always looks best on an aircraft. Even a gloss finish looks better as satin in the scales we work in.
Funny thing is, some aircrew liked them polished because the aircraft was a few mph faster, and others liked them matted down so they didn’t glint when banking…..I’ve come across this in several different fighter pilot memoirs.
