Help with airbrush hose / compressor: 1/4 to 1/8

Hello all. I have been using a truly terrible entry level airbrush, and I have upgraded to something much better, but it doesn't fit the hose I have and I'm trying to work out what hose to get, or whether to just get a decent compressor.

The old airbrush I have is an Expo AB725. The new one is a Harder and Steenbeck Ultra.

I got the Expo AB725 in this kit: https://www.expotools.com/acatalog/A...605.html#SID=2

The Expo hose for the compressor and airbrush in this kit looks like it's the AB105 with 1/4 BSP Compressor Fitting.

So - it looks to me like I need a 1/8 fitting for the H&S Ultra.

Are there adapters for this and do they work?

Or should I but the bullet and just get a proper compressor with an air tank, better control over PSI (my old one doesn't change much regardless of what setting it's on)?

    All advice gratefully received!

You can get a hose from the scale models shop, that has 1/8 one end and 1/4 the other. He also has adapters.
If you really want to get a new compressor, he can help you with that as well.

    Oh welcome to the forums.

        Large selection here as well….

Your compressor should be OK to start with, but you will get the best out of your airbrush with a higher specification model that allows better control of air pressure.

        Welcome from me as well…..

Welcome Paul. Good to hear you're sorted.

There's a couple of locals on the forum so don't worry too much about all these Southerners :smiling5:
