    Miko retrospective

I hope it's okay to add a few former builds here to give you an idea of my modelling preferences

All these builds we completed with brush painted Humbrol enamels

My apologies for the poor quality photography most of these builds are from over ten years ago

    Matchbox/Airfix EE Lightning T4

Aeroclub vac form and modern Airfix Lightning F2a 'First and last Lightnings'

    VN799 first prototype and XP693 EE/BAe retained development/chase aircraft

    I do like a prototype

Frog Gloster Pioneer, non flying engine test bed

Supermarine Attacker from one of those Czech manufacturers, I forget which?

Airfix B6/B20 and Aeroclub conversion with scratch built details English Electric A1 Canberra

Airfix BAe Hawk Demonstrator, perhaps the most challenging decal job I've yet done

    Plasyk Javelin FAW9 of A&AEE

Revel Gannet built as a COD mk4 (Ark Royal)

Matchbox Wessex also from Ark Royal air wing

I also enjoy an interesting 'what if?'

Airfix Su27 from the 'Royal Aircraft Establishment' captured aircraft evaluation flight

    From the Miko Reconnaissance flight

Airfix Spitfire PRXIX and Canberra B6/20 with airwaves conversion

Miko (I'll post part 2 tomorrow if that's okay?)

I do like a silver RAF 'plane, even if they've only one wing and flaming out the back!

For brush jobs, you've got a great finish on all of them, especially the bright blue Canberra!

Oh yeah, and the 'Raspberry Ripple' Sukhoi is a a real beaut!

Very nice Miko, I'm looking forward to seeing more.

You weren't tempted to do the Angel Interceptor in RAF or World Air Force colors? I know I would

My favourite is the 0/400. I mean, it's a fully rigged big biplane!

Wait, was that Viggen LANDING on your house?

I was tempted to build an Angel interceptor in Viggen style splinter camo, but ended up Swedifying an Airfix Lightning F3 instead, I had seen an RAF version done previously, I believe the art of 'Whatif?' should be quite unique in it's execution!

The O/400 took a while, I used fishing line, I pulled the whole rig a bit too tight as the wings had a slight sag drooping down at the tips!

The Viggen 'did' land in my house! on a shelf in the room where I practice what missus Miko affectionately calls our hobby 'stickin'!

As mentioned elsewhere in this forum, I enjoy building in themes

Can anyone spot the connection with these builds?

                              They’re all British aircraft.
