Sherman Tank

Hi all, What colour is the inside of a Sherman tank, as I am having the hatches open on mine.

The inside of the tank itself was white, but the insides of all hatches (including those on the engine deck) were olive drab like the outside.

A general rule of thumb with military vehicles — not just American ones — is that the insides of all hatches that open outward, are painted like the outside of the vehicle is. About the only exception I can think of off the top of my head, is the hatches on the LVT (A) (2) and LVT (4), AKA Alligator of Buffalo, which were white on the inside for some reason. For just about everything else, you’ll be on safe ground if you just paint the hatch insides together with the outside of the vehicle.
