1/56 Printed Models

I've been going through a particularly difficult period, and I haven't really felt like any benchtime. Instead, I've been printing some tank models in 1/56 - I found 1/72 too small, and printing times for 1/35 are way too long, so 1/56 is a compromise - being a wargaming size, there are loads of free models...................
I've been trying to print the more difficult models, which are really more suited for resin printing, but here are some of the results:



The Centurion ARV was the 4th attempt at this beast! Some others that I've failed miserably - Flakpanzer Gepard, ZSU-57.....................

Hmm now attempting to print something difficult


My first attempts had to be aborted, as it was clear that they'd gone wrong. This led to this attempt, which I didn't think would work:


Looks pretty hopeless - this is printed with organic, or tree support - but, with a bit of careful trimming, and clean up

Needs a little more work, but it's in there!
Can anyone guess what ths 1/56 model is?

Medium Mark II - gun is way oversized, but could be a CS 3" ( some were fitted! )

The clutch of Vickers lights (like the Mk.II) I did a while back still needed work to do particular sub-variants, but without the 3D prints, I'd not have even a start. And not having a printer myself, it's good to find some very accomodating sellers out there even willing to print parts - like the stack of British truck wheels I've had done

Still plenty of unfilled gaps out there in my 1/56 / 28mm scale, especially softskins (and those that are out there have 'solid' cabs)

Softskins don't look good with solid cabs - I have a 'Stalwart' model printed & it doesn't really work! I have looked at MRAP type vehicles, but solid windows are tricky to make look anything like

and tracks for a Light Tank Mk VI I've printed the tracks first, not much point in printing the rest, if the tracks don't look good

turned out ok - now printing the hull, turret & sandshields for a M.VIc - takes a long time at small layer thicknesses ( 0.075mm )

Softskins don't look good with solid cabs - I have a 'Stalwart' model printed & it doesn't really work! I have looked at MRAP type vehicles, but solid windows are tricky to make look anything like

They will be gaming models done for strength then Dave. There are one or two guys out there that do them with reflections and light flashes in the windows that look superb….mind you, there are only one or two….most of them, like the times I’ve tried, make them look pretty Meh

The results you are getting look great, by the way. A quick Zenitel paint, wash, and drybrush would finish them quickly and they would sell pretty well Ithink. Good way to subsidise your printing costs if nothing else.
