Ready-mixed Lightweight Coving Adhesive as filler

I had to put some coving up recently, and I had a bit of adhesive left over. It struck me that it could make a good filler; it is spreadable and workable out of the tub, can be thinned with water and dries rock hard and can be sanded. Anyway, I'm experimenting with it on my current build.

It seems not to bond itself to the plastic, so overspill can be removed with a cocktail stick or fingernail before it is fully cured. It's cheap too; I got a litre from B&Q for about a fiver. It's quite good for sticking up coving, too.

I'll report back on the results.

if it doesnt bond to the plastic wont it fall out of the gap your filling?

I'll be interested to see how this goes as at the moment im using my sons citadel liquid green stuff for filling gaps and its not so cheap.

I've got 3/4 of a tub of this stuff in the shed, I've been wondering about using it for terrain modelling 'cos it'll never get used for coving

What I meant was it doesn't melt the plastic, like some putties, but overall it works very well as a filler. The texture feels a bit grainy, but it will sand smooth. Worth trying.
