What cannon ports were used on a Lightning F1/1A

Hello everybody as some of you are aware I am in the middle of a GB for the English Electric Lighting my question is this the trumpeter 1/32 scale has from the looks of it supplied 4 cannon ports 2 at the top of the nose and two at the bottom from my research it appears that the bottom two were in every picture I have looked at flared over is this the case or were the bottom 2 ports actually used and not just a figment of trumpeters designers

    Regards

    Hi.

Have a look at this link as it details the 4 gunport lightning - rare but not unheard of.

    https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=vSlNDQAAQBAJ&pg=PA16&lpg=PA16&dq=lightnin g+gun+ports&source=bl&ots=sgTZsXu4Q4&sig=jjlF2LLlA cN3brCpvf_G7Cgjm9U&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj4lZ7sluH VAhXBAcAKHSuSCYoQ6AEIVDAM#v=onepage&q=lightning gun ports&f=false

Some more detail her with suggestions that it was aircraft serviving in Germany (if i am reading correctly) that had the 4 guns

For the above link see the section headed

Thanks Tony it would appear that if you want a 4 gun ship then you have to forego the missiles otherwise two guns and two missiles was the normal fit because the missiles get in the way of the guns so the bottom 2 were flared over pity that wasn't pointed out in the instructions for the kit oh well never mind thanks again mine will be 2 missiles 2 guns
