Yes a very human memorial as you are so close to it.

Not seen it in the real yet but saw the ceremony of dedication on BBC. All not before time as over 55,000 aircrew were lost from all walks of life.

Terrible for the families & friends. Also they were lost to the generation of youths of my age they were the young future of Great Britain. Engineers, Architects Doctors Teachers Profs. Industry leaders Tradesman etc.

If you are up near Ben Nevis nestling in the valley is a similar memorial to the Commandos. Very moving Sculpture & similar in feel to the one above.

It certainly is a very stunning and moving memorial.

The main Battle of Britain memorial is not far from me in Capel between Dover and Folkstone. That too is stunning and very moving. If anyone is down this way you should come to see it (pm me and lets have a beer too!!!)
