little tip for aircraft modellers

If you struggle to get a good shine in the oleo strut on aircraft undercarriage legs try mixing silver pilot super color pen ink with a touch of Windsor and Newton low odour solvent then paint it on with a small brush it works for me

    Great tip thanks.

At the moment I use vallejo liquid silver or alclad paints for a similar finish but I'm always open to new ideas and methods of doing things. One to try out in the future cheers John

        That looks good.

At 1/32 I foil mine with bog standard aluminium cooking foil, attached with white glue.

Like Steve I foil larger ones, or now paint Mr Hobby buffables.
