    great progress ,Ralph,

looking great, liking how you do ,do this, and the use of matts,

don't you find the brick sheet, card and strips costly or do you know were to get them at a good cost ?

and thats what puts me off using card and strips,

    and use balsa wood,

but real would like some of the brick sheet inn 1.35,

      Thanks Monica,appreciate your comments.

Yes they can be costly if bought all at once, but I have collected bits and pieces over the years so I don't tend to notice the cost so much.If I was to buy what I posted at the beginning it would cost about ยฃ35.I also prefer to work with plastic when I can

So I guess this building will probably have cost under ยฃ10.

Also Doing this myself I get an individual building that no one else has.

      Hope I've explained well.

very true,Ralph, thats the very same reason I,do build my ones,

and as you say its a bit of a cost all upfront, but you may get 3 or 4 building from a pack of strips, and just have the brick sheet as a cost,

looks good and its all yours

Nice to watch a different way of making buildings Ralph. Very interesting and very well pictured and explained....

Like Monica, I make mine from bits and pieces, so it's good to see your particular method, which will be a great additional reference for anyone thinking of making their own stuff.

Next thing I did was to add render to the building.

For this I used woodland scenic ballast(leftover from my railway) and PVA glue.

I first applied PVA to the building in as even layer as possible,I then simply poured ballast all over and then tipped off the excess.

It looks rough at this stage. But when painted looks much better.

                  Hope this helps.

                  Ralph.

I use the same method for bases as well as walls.....Coat in PVA, sling dust, muck, sweepings, whatever you have to hand on the base. Tip the thing over and tap...job done.

This is looking well Ralph. Nice work.

I have a tub of "Crap" that I use for bases also(mainly figures)

I wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't for you.
