    highlights and washes

just a quick question, finished painting my tanks and now painting the commander figures that came with them. What sort of techniques does anyone know to bring out the details on their face and uniforms? I painted a flat flesh colour on their faces but it just looks like a blob of pink, any kind of wash I could use to somewhat add some depth?? Back in my Warhammer days, there was a flesh wash that I could purchase, but I though that it made my figures look more tanned than anything

And one more thing, how about their uniforms? I painted the standard black for two of them and another one is wearing a white winter coat. Anything I can do there as well?

    thanks

I would start off by having a read through this site.

A lot of the techniques are way above what some of us would consider but, as opposed to having about 7 differrent shades of a colour, I use a base, a wash and a highlight. Just doing that makes a huge difference over doing nothing.
