    Making realistic Airliner windows

    Here's how you do it:

    (1) Go to a computer supply store and get a pack of "CLEAR Waterslide Decal Paper" for inkjet printers.

    (2) Then a can of Testors Gloss Coat at the LHS.

    (3) Apply the shades & passengers.

    (4) Assemble fuselage halves.

    (5) Spray a layer of glosscoat on the decal paper, put in a dust-free area and let it dry.

    (6) Cut a thin strip of scotch or masking tape and place it over the window openings.

    (7) Paint the fuselage, then remove tape.

    (8) Apply another coat of gloss-coat or Future.

    (9) Apply decals. (once COMPLETELY set, if decal cheatline is used, carve the end of a piece of spru the size of the window openings and carefully punch them out... *not deep enough to disconnect the shades & passengers however* - **Some of the old Airfix kits had window punches included** - ***if the decal chips and exposes the white underneath, touch up with brush***

    (10) Then cut long strips from the waterslide sheet and apply like regular decals over the windows. (two layers suggested)

Doing it this way, the clear window decal is applied just before the final gloss-coat/Future. (next to the last step before completion)

    Take care,

    Frank
