Need advise for building a model

Hi, I am new and was trying to find some help. I am building a 1:24 scale 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A and wanted it to look more like an R/T version of the car. I figured out how to change most things.

The main problem I have is how to make the hood of the T/A look more like an R/T's? The T/A has a huge scoop I can easily remove but I'd still need to work on it. Is there any kind of putty or clay I can use to build over the model so the parts look more like I want?

Any kind of advise is welcome.

Hi Mate,

If ever i need a part or need to make a mod i use normal car body filler. it sets in around 6 mins but is calveable in 4 mins, at this 4 min stage it cuts like soft cheese, so u use a craft kinfe to roughly get the shaple u want and calve away at it a little at a time. When u are near enough where u need to be, let it harden and just sand to final finish. If working on a surface such as a curve etc, you should lay masking tape on the surface and then put your filler on top, it formes a perfect surface fit once it has hardend off. It can be easily removed by lifting the masking tape and it just pops off.

short strand or glazing putty. with either cream hardener or liquid hardener will work fine. glazing is really fine putty for surface spot imperfections and short strand is what you do bulk filling with.

Any type of boddy filler will do it doesnt have to be expensive either. A tin will last you a life time as it has no shelf life if you secure the lid when u have finnished with it. Here are some items i made for this project.

Tail Light, Antenna Mast, Hydraulics covers. I have made scoops and lights air vents, all sorts. It really is the quickest cleanest and cheapest way to make anything u want, and in any size. The added advantage als is that it sets so quick, you are sanding in a matter of minuets. No over night setting up, and if you make a mistake u can make another part within the time it takes to harden.
