Simple sanding aid

Hi folks.

Another very simple idea (from an equally simple man!).

For sanding in awkward spots (usually where the kit makers put their ejector pins!).

Take a piece of sprue with a number tag. Cut it free with the tag and sand a flat spot opposite the tag. Wrap a piece of sanding paper around it and use the number tag as a 'handle' for your tweezers or long nose pliers.

I've resorted to glueing sand paper to various things in the past so I might give this a go.

Dave That is a good & simple idea. Like all the best ones.

Tried those sanding sticks for the same thing but not very impressed at all they either seem to sand the wrong part or go bald in double quick time.

Your idea can also be used wet & dry (with your chosen grade) which have found in most cases is the best.

I've been sticking wet and dry to odd shaped items for longer than common sense should have let me ....

Have you seen the price of the new bendy sanders??? bloody ridiculous.

I use an old mini hacksaw frame, you just cut a thin ribbon of what ever grade sand paperdouble it over and i use cut off cocktail sticks to keep the tension. Hey presto you can sand gradiants and small places and saved yourself enough for a new kit ,or flowers for her in doors. doule Bonus
