what a smeg head scratch build

Hi every one here is one I have just finished just one I built for myself because I like the ship, RED DWARF all plastic sheet apart from the red ring at the back of the model which was a bit from my spares box from an old kit. I have yet to paint the model, and as you all know I can not paint but this will be a simple red spray job with a bit of dirtying down even I can not make a mess of that well I hope not.
The model is just over 3 feet long and 12 inches wide, and is quite heavy as I put in loads of bits inside to give it strength please let me know what you think it really does help me to improve.

regards Barrie ( the old smeg head guy )

      Hi Bz

      Quite an impressive build.

What paint are you going to use? Halfords' red primer may be a good chioce?

You guessed right Peter Halfords red primer, but guess what the Halfords branch near me has none in they are waiting for an order to come in this week, delivery man may have stopped for a kipper or two

                Thank you Mick and Tony,
I just can not stop building not sure what my next quick project will be the red dwarf was a quick build only 3 weeks,
but being retired or as my better half puts it retarded I have loads of time to stick plastic to plastic.

regards Barrie ( the old retired guy )

                  Fantastic work Barrie
The green bug they use in Red Dwarf would go nicely with it.

Thanks for the comments John and Ian,
YES the green bug would be a good model to pull of I have been looking for balls if you pardon the expression for a long time of the right size to make a good model, I will put it on my to do list until I find the correct type and size.

regards Barrie ( the old guy )

                        Hi every one,
well here is my humble attempt at a paint job on red dwarf, the model is now complete and will soon be on display in TRANSPORT MODELS PRESTON LANCASHIRE, if you get chance drop in and take a look at the model and maybe you could give me a thumbs up on the paint job or more likely advice to leave the painting to some who knows what they are doing.

regards Barrie ( the old guy who can not paint )

Very cool to see The paint job doesn’t look too bad, though you could try highlighting it a little perhaps? Just some drybrushing with a lighter shade over the raised detail should make that pop out a bit and make the model look even better (hopefully ).
