Hello every one,
well this old guy has woke up with a smile and jumped on his bike, ( well scratch built a speeder bike ) just fancied a quick build and set about the speeder bike model, which in fact proved very tricky. I have a book Star Wars the essential guide to all vehicles and vessels which is very good but a lot of the drawings I have found do not match up they are slightly different scales and more than once have caught me out with my measurements. So if any of you have the book check that the profile and front or rear views match up before going ahead with the cutting of pieces. Any way to the bike all from sheet plastic even the long tapered tubes which took quite a lot of sanding to get the shape some where near. One other thing I found when getting shots of the bike from the good old internet was that the mass produced models all had bits of difference nothing major but I do wish that some kind person would produce some really good accurate blueprints of things from which we could all work. Thats the fun of model making though you can adapt and change things with that good old artists license or just call your model a prototype as is my own speeder bike model. Let me know what you think, it will soon be on display in TRANSPORT MODELS OF PRESTON LANCASHIRE soon, as they like me to help fill the ceiling with things of interest.
so go every one get on your bikes
regards Barrie ( the old guy )
