This is now finished - I'll put it away carefully for Michael's birthday next month..............................

The pilot & interior are completely invisible!

And to show the size, comparison with a std. Vallejo paint pot

My first sci-fi model! The Revell kit is simple, and after a bit of careful edge preparation ( large ingates ), fits together well, showing it's origin as a snap-together model. Instructions are clear & logical. The one error I found was the decal - this was for the framing on the front canopy. I thought I was going to have difficulty to get it to conform to the shape - but when I offered the decal up, it was too small! The canopy has an outside diameter of 21mm, the decal 17.5mm. A steady hand and a 00 brush solved that. The wash was my own concoction, shaved soft pastel, washing up liquid & water.................
I was quite surprised by the size & weight of the finished model! You can pick these up for around £9.00, if you fancy something different - I suppose it's good value.
I still don't I'm going to make any more sci-fi models - whilst this was a reasonable technique exercise, I'll stick to things that actually exist(ed). At least I can say I've actually made a sci-fi model.
Thanks for looking in
