    star wars imperial star destroyer

thought i would show you guys my latest build all though it probably will not appeal to most of you guys. kit was an old revell kit i grabbed off e-bay. not entirely sure about the colours as i thought that it was a lot lighter but these are the exact colours called out for by revell who apparently moulded the model based on the original studio models. apologies for the quality of pictures but have not invested in a digital camera yet so mobile is the unit of choice.

That looks good to me too.

That's only one of the 'baby' Star Destroyers though isn't it? It's not the same version as the one we see right at the start of Episode 4. I remember being awestruck at the first sight you get of that one right at the start of the film. Fans will surely remember that opening sequence!

as a star wars fan i can tell you. its a model of the latest 3 SW movies. the opening battle shots in SW 1...you get a bunch of star destroyers fighting.

the original destroyers are way more imposing

Thats great work Andrew, I was always a bit disappointed when these Star destroyers came on, smaller and not as scarely awesome, but seeing as these are meant to be earlier versions. Also I don't know what you think but I feel the SW 1-3 had a darker look than SW 4-6 so the paint schemes would be darker too.

                    Tony.

I think the colours pretty good, adds to the slightly used scarred and dirtied look, Star Wars was the first sci fi movie to relaise that vehicles get weathered and dirty and do this with their models, even to the realistic degree that the rebel vehicles would be dirtier and less well kept given the hidden nature of the resistance movement and that giving the x wings a wash would be low on the priority list.

Nicely done model and well lit in a studio with greenscreen I think it'd look pretty convincing.
