The parachutes will be deployed as normal but with the device wrapped around the folded chute it allows a lengthier free fall period allowing the rocket to land closer to the pad. At a preset altitude, the parachutes will unfold completely.

That's why I recommended starting off small. It's much easier on the wallet.

I built a model rocket in the sixties. It reached an altitude of nearly 4 feet, then dropped to the ground and caught fire. I didn't build another.

Remember the Jetex solid-fuel rocket motors Chris? Not a great deal of thrust.

The Aerotech 54/852 engine casing with screw on end closures. This simply uses a reload kit consisting of solid fuel grains, graphite engine nozzle, ignitor, rubber 'O' rings, delay charge, ejection charge and spacers where needed. Once used you clean it out with a gun brush or similar, dry it out and install another reload kit.

Good morning to you too Christopher. It's 2:44 AM now and I figured showing the casing itself. When you ask about 'laying it out', are you referring to the entire model?

You've interrupted nothing so no need to apologize. I was already on here and wide awake. It happens. Being bipolar will do that and just screw up your sleeping schedule. As for the entire stack, I'll have to wait till daylight for better lighting.
