    Bandai R5-D4 vignette

    Hi All

Something completely different from my normal fayre of vehicles or military Bandai's 1/12 R5-D4. Although this is actually a snap together kit the level of detail and the engineering of the kit is actually quite phenomenal, everything fits to perfection with no glue. The sprues actually come in the correct colours but as I intend to weather this heavily, I primed and resprayed the parts (on the sprue) and I think it has improved the finish too, especially on the aluminium parts.

The next step is to work out a small but detailed base, maybe as if the poor droid has been left to rot in a junk pile or in a corner of a sand crawler!

Thanks guys, the painting was actually easy as it was all painted before construction!

I done some work on the base today, just put together from scraps of wood, cardboard and bits from the spares box. I'm trying to create the look of an interior of a space ship or vehicle.

Th idea was to paint it up on various metallic paints be but I think it is too much so I'll tone it down next

        Thanks for looking

I got this one finished up, I was going to add more details but after using enamel washes and filters to weather it the plastic started to crack. First a led broke then other cracks started appearing so I used epoxy to stick it down and then left it alone.

          Now onto the next one!

I think this has come out very well.

Your spaceship base looks very convincing.
