Star Trek USS Enterprise Original Series scratch build in progress
The model's had a light dusting of a satin spray to brighten it up and the deflector dish has now been added. Managed to take a nice low light photo in a darkened room.
Need to add the four "fins" on the back of the warp nacelles. Need to add a few more red lines here and there. The underside needs some decals or prints. The side hull needs a little bit of detail just in front of the side decal. I also need to add some transparent colour paper over some of the lights at the top to make it more accurate.
It's by no means accurate in comparison to the official model. A bit bumpy here and there, plus the nacelles aren't 100% symmetrical (but only I'd know that). I suppose I want to be a perfectionist, but I am delighted so far. The rotating engines look amazing and the lighting holds up well. I'm looking to add a better power connector before I can sign this one off.
Cheers. Comments are much appreciated as always. Next is a simpler effort. I want to re-create a Galileo Seven diorama, with a more simpler shuttlecraft on a landscape. Still want to light it with pulsating lights representing a glowing (damaged) reactor.
