Hi Scott, I've seen the results and I'm sold!! It does away with a single tone finish with pin washing and a bit of weathering - it literally brings the kite to life. I've been watching a video on youtube video 15 onwards , this guy (he is incredible) shows pre-shading, bleaching, post shading, pin washing etc on a 1/48 F-14 Tomcat.

Well the paint is going on - pre shading + bleaching + post shading. I must say I do like this Mr. Color paint. Its a bit of drawn out process, but i think its paying divident.

Have a look and tell me what you think - personally I think it is a huge step up from a uniform finish.

Thanks Polux! I agree that it may be too much, but as this is a first attempt at the technique - I guess too much is better than nothing!!

The modules are slowly taking shape and piecing together.

                        Decals and more decals......

They must thrown the whole decal bin at this one! 22 "do not step", just on the upper wings alone!!

Anyway the end is strting to loom in the distance!

Now that the Valyrie is crawling to the finish line, I've decided it need a suitable base. The opening scenes in the animation series shows the Valkyrie taking off from a carrier deck with a jet blast deflector and flight director...... I did not want to build one from scratch so I have opted for the next best option, a kit! The 1/48 Skunkmodelz, USN Nimitz Deck!!
Boy! Am I a happy chappy or what?? Its massive and impressive!!

Here are a couple of photos of the boxed kit and sprues!!
