    Space 1999 Eagle

Hello all, as my Kenworth is waiting for parts (and i'm getting bored) thought i'd build this little beauty. So i started on the pod and went a little mad, i added some detail to the top to add some interest. The doors on each end are decals so i'm making some new ones from styrene. And as you can see from the photos i've started to cut out the windows, as i'm going to light it up (should be fun lol).

    Have fun, John

I wish lol, i've seen the price for that one. No, this is the 1/72 scale, so needs some work.

        Have fun, John

A good start, and an apt choice given the sad news that Martin Landau passed away on Saturday.

            Hi John
Looking forward to this. You doing the rescue eagle with the red stripes?
I've got the 22" version in the stash, the plastic looks awesome in the box. I don't think I'll bother with the aftermarket turned aluminium engine bells though, they come in at more than the price of the kit!

            Have fun

Not much to report on this build yet, cutting, sanding more cutting and some more sanding (oh, and a lot of cursing when a No.11 blade gets stuck in the plastic). The engine bells have been drilled ready for LED's, the cockpit windows have been cut out. And while sorting out i found some 1/72 scale astronaut figures. I've made a little hole in the bottom of the pod as i also found a very nice stand.

Paul mate, sorry it's been some time to answer your question as i didn't know what i was going to do. But yes, it's going to be the Rescue Eagle. Just to add a bit of colour

This is something i had to make so i could sand down the inside of the pod where the windows fit.

Looking good John. I think the lighting will really make this build.
I always liked the Eagle it always seemed plausible as a space ship and they look great.
                        Keep up the fabulous work.

                        Cheers
                        Paul

Just thought i'd let you know, i'm still working on this build. But, been giving it a lot of thinking and buying styrene round rod. Some areas could do with work like the service module and engineering module, so i'll keep you posted when i've stoped thinking and start working

                          As aways, have fun, John
