Hi every one,
well I has this idea after doing my run of alien models to post a few build up images each couple of days through the construction of the Nostromo ship from Alien. This is not to show of but to show younger and less experienced modelers the simple way that I construct my models,I hope that this will be OK and if any one has any questions about the construction please ask its the only way to get answers.
here goes nothing, this is the very basic start to a large scale scratch build,
most of the material is 60 thou thick ( not sure about the metric equivilent is ) then 40 and 30 thou are used, only when doing the final panel work will I use the very thin 10 and 20 thou plastic card. I began by printing out a drawing from the internet ( what would we do without it now ) then just scale it up by 8 times to get a model of around 36 inches long. always try to gather as many photos of the model you are going to build as you can never have to much reference material. \i hope this is of some use to some one out there,
regards Barrie ( the old guy )
