Hi Wouts,

I looked in on this the other day but didn’t have time to post. These kits are great, I got a couple for me and Harry to build last year and he did his completely by himself.

I did the purple dude, but gave him a change of paint to something a bit more military .....intended to weather him up with loads of dirt, rust and missing paint. Not got round to it yet, he stands watch over my bench for now

maybe watching you complete yours will inspire me?
Look forward to seeing yours take shape:thumb2:

Hi Chris, glad to have you on board mate

Hi Si, good to read that someone else builds them. You got a photo of the finished one by Harry? Always curious to see those

And it's funny that you gave the purple dude a green coat, it reminds me of a Zaku now. Well, I hope to be able to inspire you, would be great to see that one finished!

Cheers

Hi Wouter
Looking really good. Decals add so much. Not come across a kit with stickers. Are they rather thick?

Hi Jim, yes they are. If you would use them it would give a toylike appearance to me. Especially when you would weather it the stickers are unuseable because they don't sit in nooks and crannies and the weathering agents would accumulate around the edges of the stickers. I guess the major part of people who build Gundams don't paint them and use the stickers and it looks fine. But not to me

Cheers

It's been a while since I did something worthwile showing. But finally we're there :P All the decals and dry transfers are finally in place on Tallgeese. I also painted the booster packs. I decided to paint them in a dark grey/black tone to have something to break the white a bit. And now it's finally ready for the most fun part of a build: chipping and weathering ^^

Nice Wouter...careful with the weathering, I heard somewhere that certain Gundams are made of an alloy that doesn't rust. Don't know if yours is one of them. It didn't say though that the paintwork was any good. If WW2 Japanese planes paintwork chipped badly, I guess it would be the same for this even in Gundam town.

Cheers,
Richard

Hi guys, thanks for the replies, glad you like it ^^

@chris: not much to show, I'm busy with the pinwash, but unlike a regular pinwash I'm using the Marijn van Gils technique where you paint the shadows in stead of capillary action. Much more timeconsuming. I've been working on it for 3+ hours and not even in half

Excuse the Hi-jack Wouter,
However after seeing this build I've decided to take the plunge and have a go at a bit of 'Gunpla'...so i bought myself these a few days ago,

I'm gonna have a crack at the 'Guncannon' first, although i'm thinking about changing the 'colour' of it.. to a more 'Desert battleground' camouflage ...
(but hey, isn't that what modelling's about... find something to build and do it your way.. my apologies to the Gunpla Gods and purists ..)...
So i'm gonna start throwing a bit of paint around tomorrow...
