Thanks Si

Just a little picture update ... i've added more detailing and the superstructures (roughly)

Just needs a little clean up around the edges.

Gave it a coat of paint just to see if it all looked in proportion

You're right Col. I think it would need to be stiffened to use as walls etc. except on smaller structures but as facings (such as on Ron's dock scene) it looks very useable. Cheap too!

          heh heh ... thanks Andy

Few more update piccies to show the extra detailing thats going on, and there's quite a lot to do to get it looking right as to how i picture it in my head.

Foam, card, boggly eyes, electrical components, drawing pins and bits of wire slapped on.

          Another quick coat of paint

It helps to see where it needs more detailing and the paint layers help to stiffen and coat the card and foam even more ready for washes and weathering.

                Thanks guys,

                Bit more progress....

Got a bit more done on the asteroid strike, adding some texture to the large "rock" and adding some smaller asteroids that have embedded themselves in the hull also.

Started the rear of the "recessed" section, there's lots of small item detailing in this part so will take a while

Made the "Scoop assembly" for the front of the ship (basically balsa, wire and some stick on jewels)

I think the line by kryten goes"well spin my nipple nuts and send me to alaska" it's looking A1 so far.

Got all the relevant detailing on and have stuck the "scoop" on the front so it can be sprayed/weathered together .. (im bound to knock it off or snap something so watch this space)

Anyway here's what it looks like before .......

And after spraying .(have given the centre recces a graphite grey coat then over-shot with the oxide to give a little more depth)

Now for the washes, pastels and dry-brushing ... oh woe is me

So its finished, as far as i'm concerned anyway (i was just starting to have enough)

Used a "mistake" that more than a few of us have made in the past by mixing acrylics and celulose together to get a "crazypave" type finish ... normally when you try and reproduce a mistake it doesn't work but this time it worked on all the facets without fail. I think it looks quite "space ragged" overall, and not knowing exactly what space would do to a painted finish ... this will have to do

Used powdered pastels to fill in some detail and then drybrushed silver, brown and black to highlight the raised detail.
