Losing your modelling mojo can be frustrating, you want to do something but just cannot seem to get motivated...it is almost like you go through a 'I'm bored with modelling' phase.
That looks amazing Polux! I can't quite see how you got from the multi-coloured look to the final pic? Was it oils you used & then blended them?Whatever it was, that really looks cool!

I paint all the model with acrylics. Have enough with the oil colours on the business van ops:
As you can see, I do this coloured preshade effect and then add a metallic amethyst gloss colour, and the final one is a very thin coat of matt black
Now I'm looking for a wash or similar, but I'm afraid to lose this effect :P
Thanks for explaining it Polux, that makes sense to me. Your method would look really good on aircraft exhaust nozzles for getting that 'burnt metal look.
I might try to replicate your technique on some scrap because it looks so nice & adds real depth.
