Cockpit is done ...... There isn't much to it and, you'll need to peer in close to see any of it anyway once the fuselage is buttoned up. Figures next, so I have to decide on the figures with the kit or two 1/72 Luftwaffe aircrew I have?

Personally, I'm not keen on the red Monica...I was thinking either the "Luftwaffe" version or "Aluminium & Gunmetal" ..... Apparently, in the series "Last Exile" there are three Vanships'. Red, Green & Silver.

Well I have the fuselage buttoned up and the underside on ....... I can't post any photos up as at the moment it's covered in elastic bands, bits of tape and clamps to hold it all together....... A couple of more photos tomorrow.

.........and I've settled on the paint scheme. I decided it'll have some of both.

Fuselage is buttoned up. and all the main body parts are ready for primer. As this is a simple kit, and considering the paint plan I wont be following the destruction for this bit........ Most of it will be painted before I assemble it. As I can quite easily mask up the surfaces that are being glued. I'll do that tomorrow along with masking the two cockpit openings, then in can have some primer. Once this bit is finished I'll sort the "Anti Gravity Drive", then the two can go together. Job Done.

The Anti Gravity Drive is a bit of an oddity ..... There is some information on the net about the Vanship and how it appears in the Japanese series "Last Exile". Apparently it's steam powered

...... Apparently the fella that created the series sort of "morphed" 1930's race cars (Bugatti, Alfa, Ferrari) with the same era aeroplanes. It all flow across the vehicles and characters outfits in the series.

Very unusual and I'm gripped, personally I would go for silver or green, just glad I could help with your decision.

Guns are in .......... Two MG17's in the nose and two MGFF outboard. The guns are from Master Models and are mounted in some Milliput shoved in the cavities behind, drilled and some CA. The outboard MGFF canons are in place of what should have been lights (the grey grill with the MG17's in is only dry fitted for now)........ Now a bit of masking and primer.
