Airfix 1/72 RNLI Shannon Class Lifeboat (A55015)

My build of the Airfix 1/72 RNLI Shannon Lifeboat (A55015)

I made quite a few changes to the basic kit and added RNLI figures from Scale3D. Flags were spare decals from a Severn Lifeboat kit. I used Humbrol and Xtracolor enamels and not the Starter Set acrylics.

That is an excellent result. I built the old Severn kit a few years ago and have been tempted by this new one. Your superb model puts even more temptation my way.

      Thanks Jim.

I started building a Severn Class Lifeboat in 2007 but due to personal issues and two house moves, I didn't finish it until 2011:

That was brush-painted but I would like to make another one with an airbrushed finish.

                Dave,

That's a nice neat build. I love the attention to detail, especially the panel rivets in the rear view.
The clear parts seem to be much better than the Severn class ones.

Eyemouth, eh? I guess that is the closest one (not a lot of water where you are ?)

Thanks Flip. I only chose Eyemouth because I visited there a few weeks ago. Actually, South Queensferry, North Berwick, St Abbs are all nearer RNLI Lifeboat stations to where I live but they don't have Shannon Class lifeboats.
