    RAF Rescue launch Airfix 1/72

Having done the one version of the two options, it would have been rude not to do the other.
Here is the Early war version (1941) when camouflage was not top of the priorities, apparently.

Nicely done Ian. That's turned out very well.

Out of interest did the 'other' version have a cannon of some sort in the back? If so, I think I made it on my youf (probably very badly!)

    Again very well done.

      Hi Ian
That's come out well. Nice to see it colourful rather than dull camo or plain grey.

        Very nice work indeed Ian.
I think the idea of the colour was to blind you so you couldn't see what your aiming at.

I think that in the early days of the war it was believed by both sides that rescue launches were not justifiable targets and would not be attacked.

            Thanks.
I just noticed that the life boat and searchlight are not fitted. LOL still on the bench.
I'll post a photo of the COMPLETE build in a while...
Yes Andrew, the other version had a 50mm on the back and two 20mm one each side around midships. Probably related to the comment from Peter. When they started shooting at them they started to arm them better.

And sometimes they where tied down with a single rope slung over the raft and tied off at the pullert.

                  Happy Easter.

                    Neat build.
I remember when I built mine, those turrets where a right pain. Neat work on yours. :thumb2:

                    Happy Easter to you too....

It is my deep and darkest secret Rick. I got back into model making via boats and ships. Working my way back from 1/35 and down. Might have to try one of those 1/350 soon. The 1/200 ships are great but they take up a whole shelve each! lol
