Fujima 1/700 JN Yamato at sea

I think these photos give the impression that its bigger than it is but it is a vey detailed kit considering its of only nine inches , I made the sea out of simple paper mache and painted with Tamiya acrylics.

Nice one Alan. I have the Tamiya 1:700 Yamato started on and then mothballed, it is a great ship to build and one, I believe, good for beginners in ship building as the mainly single colour of the central superstructure island is a lot easier to work with than say, a Royal Navy ship of the period with it's different deck to superstructure side colours. The Yamato is a very impressive ship and you have made a good job of it.

Thanks for posting these extra pictures Alan.....Some nice detail for such a small scale model, and nicely painted too.

What an array of secondary armament. How the American carrier borne aircraft managed to get through that lot to sink her beggars belief.

cheers Ron, it took something like 400 planes to sink that
