Well while waiting for for things to dry on the Tornado I got a bit bored, Audi 003 had just parked in the armco and King Toms ride was also in bits all over the circuit at Le Mans. What does a guy do?
Build a submarine! The actual build time was silly quick. The U-boat was built in and hour and the torpedoes took around the same time. There are actually more parts in each of the torpedoes than in the U-boat!! Two hours total build time and a week to paint!!! Why so long? :-
Being a sadist at heart and having picked up a new spray nozzle for my "fine-work" airbrush I went for the spotty dog.
The hull was painted with Vallejo white primer then the edges of panels etc pre-shaded with black primer. On top of that went some Vallejo dark grey. A few plates where lightened with a few drops of white to break it down a little.
The for the fun part. The spots. Vallejo again very thin and just enough air to blow it out the AB. A few cock ups resulted in the never-ending touch up spiral. You have all been there!
The rust was down to good old windsor and newton oil paint, White spirit and a hairy stick.
I am rather please with it. Might get another one and do the B5 version some day.
Picture time:

Hope you lot like it 'cause I ain't painting that again any time soon!
