this was at beale park last october , my friend and i saw this moored across the lake , a few moments later it was gently negottiating it's way around the pond carefuly trying not to get in antones way , we watched it for around 20mins , i said to ralph ( me mate) can you see who's sailing it , "no" he replied, i said " i think theres someone inside it" , "do you think so " he said ,"yes " i said ," i ca'nt see anyone " said ralph ," we'll wait till it moors up" , i said , and sure enough the top slowly flip over to one side and out popped the bloke who was sailing it , had every one wondering .

Unbeleivable. It must take some moving around! And I worry about carrying my models to and from the pond.

i did'nt get to look in side it, so i don't now how it was moved about , i may have been pedalled as i did'nt hear any motors humming.

This sort of thing is quite popular in the States where biggest always seems to be best. There are some amazing models to be seen but sometimes size seems to be more of a consideration rather than quality.

There is a model of the Graf Spee where the guy sits in it like a canoe and looks through the forward superstructure. I just can't get my head around a model boat with a guy sat upright in the middle of it!

Still each to thier own. It is still modelling in its own way and I appreciate the effort that has gone into making them.

You see their stuff quite regularly in Model Boat Magazine. It has often made me wonder what on earth it must be like inside one of these things in the middle of a harbour.

I think I would be a bit apprehensive about putting to sea on one of them!

Its a bit smelly(2st engine beside your right ear in mine) a bit frightening near a ship of any size. Terrible in more than flat calm sea with no wind. Inshore waters only. Looks like the "little" Oriana in this pic chose a bad day.
