Any help with this one ducky??

I'm wanting to do an RC Duck - I have the duck ready to start on but I would appreciate any advice/pictures from anyone who has done one already.

    many thanks in advance,

    Ian

I'd go with something like Graupner jet drive, a very neat install with no prop or rudder to disfigure your duck!

Here's one done a more tradional way http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Radio-Control-...QQcmdZViewItem

While browsing for something similar I found this site. http://www.vac-u-boat.com/Vacuduck.htm. Has some good installation photos for electronics. I like his remote controlled alligator.

You quite often see them on Ebay but 200.00 quid is excessive.

You could probably cobble one together for less than 50.00 with cheap two channel etc. and stuff from the bit box.

Yes, they can be made cheap and are a lot of fun to watch. One of the guys at the local club has one and it always raises a smile...we had some real ducks on the local boat pond once and an old lady was feeding bread to the ducks but was frantically throwing more bread to one duck that didn't seem interested in eating at all....yes it was the model amongst the real ducks...we were in stitches..!!

I have seen a Canada Goose done on the internet somewhere for R/C too.

              Regards.......Mark

Sorry to reincarnate an old thread but jet drive for a duck?

Sounds like its been on the Heinz Beans or something...

Has anyone managed to create a mechanism to power the duck in a more fitting manner - i.e. two orange webbed feet thrashing around under the water?

Ideally each foot powered independently for manoeuvring on the spot to get any elusive bits of bread first!

How about a paddle wheel arrangement? You can buy a Graupner system to operate them and even deliberately remove some blades and offset them to generate a bit of a rocking motion.
