What do you think of the weathering. I thought it very authentic. Funnels are just incredible.

    Lifecolor Derek !

Good news that after all these years, 45 years, she is to be restored as a museum. Sad but hopeful.

Thought you may find this interesting. The real thing always tells the truth.

Although it seems well past it is apparently structurally sound.

Depends if the owners have maintained the cathodic protection system for the Hull, Ballast Tanks etc. Topsides corrosion certainly looks superficial. Derek

The sacrificial anode. Had a number of boats and always kept my eyes on the anode. some did not : costly.

This is a very nice looking craft. Reminds me of the old Britannia. We circled her in our boat in The Solent when outside the mouth of the River Madina Isle of Wight. My daughter fell in love with all the sailors leaning over the rails. A very nice boat and I am surprised Airfix have not come up with a model.

I remember my late father getting me interested in the Blue Riband and how he used to follow the great Cunard liners trying in vain to take the prize away from United States.

She still holds the official cross Atlantic record.

Ah, yes, the sacrificial anode.....I fitted a couple to our narrow boat when I built her in our front garden a few years back. A very important item and one often neglected as it crumbles before your very eyes!
