    Rowing Boat

I thought that the attached pic might prove a diversion from the norm. The rowing boat - built by a member of the Borders Model Boat Club - appeared at the Edinburgh end of season sail in our newly re-furbished pond at Inverleith. The model certainly caused a great deal of interest from modellers and spectators alike. It's just a great pity that I didn't manage to find out more about it's builder or how it worked.

    Howdy Andrew,

That is so cool, I never even thought about R/C rowboats before now.

That is along the same lines as an R/C Bicycle lol, just something you never think about.

    Have a good day,

    Greg

Great stuff. I love interesting little things like this.

There was a two man canoe in Model Boats magazine about a year ago which was also very interesting.

I have an old Model Boats magazine that shows a boat like this with the mechanics explained. I'll see if I can dig it out and let you know which edition it was.

If anyone is thinking of a build thread for one of these R/C Rowboats - bear in mind there may be children present on these forums - if posting images of dissmembered action men! :death:

Thats pretty cool. I sawa Viking type boat a few years ago with about 15 oars per side, but no exposed rowers.

                  Rowing vessels

Hello all, what a Viking Longship like this one? Photo taken at Tarlair Model Boat Club in Macduff on the occassion of th eScottish Feferation of MBCs National Scale Regatta in August this year. Well worthy of the title and a good day out.

                  cheers

                  Jim

Our chairman has a rowing boat too. Each time we put it on a stand the questions about it are "who knitted the hat and jumper"?
