A great day at the club (Navy Day)

Several subs turned up including a Sci-fi and the Delfin from Broadmeadows club. That’s a fun boat.

For those who can’t watch the video, this little sub goes like ….!

It jumps right out of the water and does circles under water at the speed of a fast bicycle. (No exaggeration) You really must see it to believe how good it is. I didn’t get to talk to it’s builder, but it must have a bruchless motor and li-poly battery to be so small but so fast. I LOVE IT!

Yes it's great to watch. He ran it for a long time and changed batteries or re-charged and ran it again. (So did I with the Blueback). Not many Navy boats came to the navy day, but lots of subs. It was a fun outing!

BTW I hate to say it, but I'm fully converted now. I occasionally put a yacht in for a sail on a non- Scope Boating day just for fun and find I'm losing concentration as I'm just wishing it was one of my subs instead!!!

Lovely shots Jason and obviously a great time was had by all. Our boat meet season is at an end now and doesn't really get into gear again until next year.

For now we just have the Sunday morning meet at the pond and the rest of the week building them!

Greetings to All

What are your ideas for a first time entry level sub? Lots of tugs, other boats but not a sub yet. Couple of them here in our club but would like to see what others think as well.

If you've built other boats then no sub kit should be beyond your abilities. All depends how big a sub you want and how much you want to spend. Get a static dive kit if you can afford one, or a dynamic dive boat that can be converted later.

How much do you want to spend? How big a model would you like? Preferance for pre/post war or research type subs? Do you want something with minmal building or do you want to get your hands dirty ?

just finally found time to study the pictures, and i too noticed the delphin, we have 2 in our club and they really move !- was this the kit version with the clever waterproof bayonet ring fitting to the internals ?
