    yamato lifebelts

    hi everyone ,just wondering if anyone can tell me if the yamato had any lifebelts if so where were they fitted thanks

    Do you mean crew lifebelts, which I believe were ready issued, or emergency life-rings?
    If the latter, the old Anatomy of the Ship publication has a drawing of a open-fronted box mounting a single ring - the box is free standing on a deck edge, but the drawing doesn't show locations.
    However... There is at least one Youtube video of the 1/10 model in the Kure Naval Museum, that does show life-rings
    (I've been there - believe me, that model is LARGE)

          Wow! At 1/10th scale that model must be over 25 metres long......apart from its size that thing must be really heavy....what’s it made from?

            Is it a Trumpeter kit you can buy.....................................? The box must be quite big.

              The box it comes in IS the Kure Naval Museum

              Optional extras include a 1:1 scale Nagato boiler set and A6M2, plus a submarine-or-two...
