    Sorry, another ship question!

    Evening and sorry for another question!

    After adding the boot topping and painting the decks i plan to varnish the hull, would varnish on the decks cause problems gluing the funnels etc in place??

    Just mask the area where the funnels and other things go, then varnish just to make sure Bob,

        Treat varnish the same as paint Bob. Scrape it off at the joins and you’ll be fine…..actually I find Revell Contacta melts through paint pretty well, so rarely scrape joints when carrying out final assembly.

          Like Tim I find that a quick scrape/light sand on the join line allows the styrene cement to work fine even if there is some paint or varnish left. If in doubt you can wick in some thin CA along the join.
