    Memory Lane

    As I was looking at my Airfix RMS Mauretania, I realised that this is the last of the 'golden era of liners' models that is actually still around ( I'm discounting the Titanic, as she didn't figure for long! ) . Ones which turn up occasionally ( all Airfix 1/600 ) are the Queen Mary, The Queen Elizabeth & the QE2.
    The three I most remember making were ( one is a ferry, OK )

    These make appearances on ebay at silly prices, but the one that really surprises me is this:

    This is a real rarity & goes for a lot of money considering its' small size. I can remember making it & being dead chuffed that I got the bow door to work!
