    HMS St Andrews and others

My Grandfather served on HMS St Andrews, as well as several HM Trawlers (used for mine sweeping, patrols, etc) - HMS Helen West, HMS Lady Hogarth, HMS Goth and Bacchante (Perilla).

I would love to build one, but i can hardly find any information let alone a scale model kit of one of them!

Any info, help or pointers would be very much appreciated.

A quick Google search has brought up the picture of HMS Lady Hogarth, see below.

It looks not unlike the Mountfleet Model 'Sir Lancelot', see link below, but this kit is based on an Aberdeen Ship Yard vessel.

    Sir Lancelot

Or the less expensive option the Caldercraft 'Sir Kay', which is again based on the same Aberdeen Trawler.

In Kit form, I thank this is as close as you will get, if you can find Drawings from say a Maritime Museum then some scratch building should achieve a pretty close match.

I am doing a similar exercise for an Aberdeen Steam Trawler. My Father commanded an Armoured Trawlers during WW2 but was mainly anti submarine duties in the Allantic and off Africa.

    Cheers Derek
