    CLINKER build plans

I am wanting to build my first model boat but am hooked on wanting a clinker build. Does anyone know of a good plan set to start or could sell me some. I am a woodcarver by trade.:music_too:rockstar:

Hi Brianc, clinker is not straight forward, I used a book called Clenched Lap or Clinker by Eric McKee published by The Naional Maritime Museum it went out of print in 1996, but The Maritime Book Shop in Greenwich may have one as they had a lot of surplus publications from the museum, If no luck I have have a copy I can loan you or fotocopy it is about 30 pages and takes you through the whole process in detail. It features a dinghy but the concept is the same for a larger hull. Regards a scratch built model suggest you contact Marine Modeling International for a plan list.

If building to sail try to get over 36" hull length as the inverse square law cuts in making for a very tender sailing boat, if you need any more info mail me on vic.hanson@blueyonder.co.uk. regards, Vic.eace:
