    played in the bath!

well, she sits as I remembered from over 30 years ago and the weight makes little difference due to her hull shape. The key I think wil be in the battery siting...anywhere from just forward of the rear bulkhead to just forward of midships I think.

I think I shall make a carrier which will allow the battery to be moved fore and aft depending on use.

A real planing hull usually sits low at the stern due to the engine weight and only trims up out the plane so it may be I need it a bit low at the stern to sit right at speed.

Has anybody got more modern ideas than my ancient knowledge for how to fit the motor to the hull and set its angle and fit rudder servo etc?

    2 pictures attached.

      Hi Petrolhead,

The initial pics look good but don't let the static appearance put you off - Where you have the motor and the battery now is pretty much the same as on my Scamp as mentioned on my previous post - You have a lot more hull space to play with though. Once she starts motoring I think you will find she will plane very nicely as she is now. As you have stated, you always have the option to move the battery a little more to the rear if you wish but I think you will be fine as she is. (My Scamp sits with the stern a little lower in the water but as stated previously that is due to the larger than normal battery)

Keep the motor as you have it now and mount it there, there are various ways of mounting depending on how you want to do it, I would run the propshaft out under that rear bulkhead (The bulkhead can be rounded out underneath to use as support if need be for strength - make sure you seal well around it and then mount your rudder post behind the prop - this will give you very much the same layout as my Scamp - you won't get any water flowing back up the propshaft and it will be very responsive too.

      Hope this helps.

      Regards........Mark.
